Philosophy
The
educational efforts at St. Rose School are unique because we integrate Catholic
values into our curriculum. As a
school community, we realize that the degree of our success depends upon how
fully we are living our faith life.
We recognize the need for God's grace as we develop the capabilities of
our students. We strive to support
and nurture our students and their families as they grow in their Catholic
faith.
Because
of our philosophy, St. Rose School operates according to the following
educational norms:
1. Learning
is Enjoyable Students experience the joy of learning, the adventure
involved in the pursuit of knowledge, and the satisfaction of achieving one's
educational goals to promote an attitude of life-long learning.
2. Self-Discipline
is Central Students are modeled and taught self-discipline skills that will
stay with them throughout their lives.
3. Mutual
Respect Students are provided with environments and experiences that
reinforce respect for other students, teachers, parents, and all those who care
for them.
4. Learning
Requires Structure Students thrive in a structured environment where there
is a consistent schedule and set of expectations. This schedule does include down-time for age appropriate "play" activities that are key to healthy social development.
5. Special
Education Needs All students, whether they struggle, excel, or fall
somewhere in between, receive individualized instruction and services as
necessary.
6. Inclusion
of Parents School staff and parents are equal partners in educating our
students. Parental input is
encouraged and expected.
7. Religious
Education Daily instruction is in values and practices of the Catholic
faith, with the experiences of these in the life of the school.
